Doubt as a Doorway to the Divine
Sometimes we have to get to the very edge before a miracle can arrive.
As much as we would love the path to always feel clear, inspired, and full of certainty, that is not usually how the spiritual journey works. One day you may feel completely in tune with Spirit, and the next you are questioning whether any of it is even real.
I see this all the time in our community. People share about the miracles they’ve witnessed, the certainty they’ve felt in their healing abilities, and the deep connection that once lit them up. Then suddenly, all of that feels out of reach. Doubt creeps in. The mind takes over with fear, effort, and control.
The swing between miracle, the mundane, and the challenge is not failure. It is the natural rhythm of faith.
And here is what I have found: sometimes we need to reach a breaking point, where our human effort is fully exhausted, before we can finally open enough to let the Divine move through us.
That desperation becomes the doorway.
You may feel angry, betrayed, or confused. You may ask how God, The Universe, or your Higher Self could possibly allow this. Yet that place of frustration is not punishment. It is an invitation.
When you are stripped of control and have nothing left to push with, you finally make space for Spirit. The miracle you’ve been waiting for was always there, hovering, but it needed you to stop gripping long enough to let it in.
And here’s the beautiful part. You cannot lose.
If you learn to surrender sooner, to soften before life knocks you flat, you open the flow more gently. But if you resist and life carries you to the breaking point, you will discover the miracle there too. Either way, Spirit meets you.
This is why doubt and breakdown can actually be gifts. They guide you deeper into your relationship with the Divine. They teach you the sacred practice of letting go. They remind you that trust is not just an idea, but a lived experience in the body.
So when the bottom falls out, or when you notice yourself grasping for control, try whispering to yourself: This is my chance. This is the moment where I step aside and let something greater carry me.
Because desperation is not the end. It is often the very place where the miracle begins.
3 simple practices when you’re in doubt or struggle
Pause and Soften
Notice where you are gripping or forcing. Take three breaths, let your shoulders drop, and ask, “What if I don’t have to carry this alone?”
Name the Invitation
Instead of asking, “Why is this happening to me?” try asking, “What is this teaching me about surrender, trust, or my connection to Spirit?”
Lean Into Trust
Place your hand on your heart or belly and feel what trust would feel like in your body. Even if it is only for a moment, let yourself rest in that sensation.
I hope this all helps you in someway, no matter where you are on your belief-o-meter.
